Chris Hoehle One personal challenge I'm working on is mastering the Richard Raffan back cut for hollowing end grain and I've decided it would be advantageous to have a 5/8" diameter gouge for this, so I'm looking at Thompson tools and deciding if it would be better to have a spindle gouge or a detail gouge for this application.
